Hungarian National Settlement Permit and Hungarian EC Settlement Permit

• National Settlement Permit can be applied after 3 years of continuous legal residence in Hungary.

• EC Settlement Permit can be applied after 5 years of continuous residence in Hungary.

• permanent residence status

• valid in the Schengen area (functions as a short term visa in some non-Schengen countries)

• applied at: the Hungarian Immigration Authority – OIF

• usual length of government procedure from the day of the application: 70 days (the deadline can be delayed by the authority in case of incomplete application)

• requirements: fully completed application form, application fee and other neccessary documents (depending on the applicant)

Residents who earned one of these permits are no longer required to follow the purpose of their original residence permit nor required to apply for a new one anymore. They can work, start businesses, study etc. freely in Hungary.

The EC settlement permit also allows you to work in any other Schengen countries similar to a Hungarian citizen rquiring only a registration at the given country.

Be aware that according to immigration regulations the applicant (client) has to appear in person in front of the Immigration Authority. In this package however in case the application can be submitted in Hungary we will accompany you to the Immigration Authority (OIF) aswell.
